John McCarthy has been involved in various capacities within college athletics for the past 20 years.  At the collegiate level, he’s been a Head Coach (Wilmington College, DE), Athletic Director (Lynn University) and Director of the NAIA’s Division I Men’s Basketball National Championship. 

He’s the Founder and Creator of the Collegiate Basketball Invitational and has been a member of the NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Committee.
In addition to ProActive Coaching, McCarthy is currently involved in multiple ventures, including serving as the Commissioner of the National Women’s Lacrosse League  (www.nwll.net). 

He is involved with Star Athletes Online (www.starathletesonline.com) and the Flying Hawaiian Classic (www.playforcollegecoaches.com).  He also writes the popular basketball blog for Small College Basketball, www.smallcollegebasketball.tumblr.com.
McCarthy has spoken to groups throughout the country on a variety of topics and is passionate about people.  He is the proud husband to Christine and the proud father to Sean.  McCarthy lives in Kansas City, MO.
